In August 2017 we were contracted to design and build interactives for KIDS AT WORK in Hamburg, which was officially opened to the public on January 20, 2018.
It is the goal of KIDS AT WORK to provide, through play, a stimulating, hands-on learning experience for children that inspires imagination, curiosity, creativity and the love of learning while at the same time providing a relaxing environment for their guardians. KIDS AT WORK, this means selfdirected play. There is no intention to teach kids how to get from A to B; in fact, there is no A and B. Kids decide fully on their own where to start, where to head and how to proceed, as they are in charge. It seems like the kids are “just playing” but under the surface they are actually exploring and learning, developing new skills and connecting with others. They simply can not play at KIDS AT WORK without learning, and this is called the power of play.
