At the beginning of 2010, Hüttinger was awarded the contract to develop the conceptual design and build a central interactive model illustrating sub-sea power-grid technology. The aim of this concept was to make the complex subsea power supply of facilities for the production of oil and gas down to a depth of 3,000 m comprehensible in visual terms. In May 2010, the subsea power-grid model was presented to the public for the first time on the occasion of the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) in Houston, Texas.
