Do you love tinkering, building, and implementing creative solutions? We are looking for someone to join our exhibit workshop team—the place where our interactive exhibits take shape, are brought to life, and prepared for installation in museums, science centers, and immersive visitor attractions around the globe.

We plan and build exciting exhibitions—ranging from hands-on stations and multimedia exhibits to entire immersive environments. Our projects are deployed worldwide, captivating people of all ages. From the initial concept to the finished exhibition, we handle everything in-house: combining creativity and technical sophistication with the highest standards of quality and design.

Mechanics / Model Makers / Tinkerer-types (m/f/d) for Exhibit Assembly

 

Location:

Hüttinger USA Inc., Midland Michigan 48640, USA

Your tasks will include:

Mechatronics Specialist:

  • Assembly and development of electronic control systems and assemblies
  • Assembly and testing of electrical and electronic components within exhibits
  • Assembly, commissioning, and maintenance of exhibits at locations worldwide

Exhibit Assembly:

  • Assembly and commissioning of exhibits – ranging from individual pieces to complete exhibitions
  • Fabrication of parts and components based on technical drawings
  • Testing and optimization of interactive exhibits and display pieces
  • On-site installation at client locations worldwide – you play a part in the final "wow moment"

Exhibit Maintenance:

  • Regular inspection of exhibits in your home base museum
  • Regular travel to institutions which our exhibits have been installed for inspection and repairs
  • Crafting of custom parts needed for regular maintenance

 

Qualifications:

  • Completed vocational training as a precision mechanic, industrial mechanic, or model maker
  • Experience working with conventional machine tools (e.g., turning, milling)
  • A passion for precision work, a strong technical aptitude, and a creative streak
  • Solution-oriented thinking, independence, and organizational skills
  • Team spirit and a willingness to contribute constructively to joint projects
  • Willingness to travel occasionally nationally and worldwide
  • Basic German skills are a plus but not required
