Future Mobility Simulator

Deutsche Bahn's “Zukunft Nahverkehr” ZNV (lit. Future Local Transport) initiative literally brought local public transport to the IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich. The ZNV experience world, housed in four oversized letters Ö, P, N, and V, adorned Munich's Königsplatz and was part of the freely accessible open space at IAA Mobility 2025.
Within the ZNV experience world, visitors can interactively learn how future public transport will take them directly to their destination with shuttles that can be booked via app or even with autonomous vehicles. In addition, the “Future Mobility Simulator” shows what cities could look like if they were consistently designed from the perspective of better public transport. This hands-on exhibit combines scientific mobility simulation with elements from computer games. Here, you can build residential and commercial areas, parks, and roads with real building blocks. What initially looks like Minecraft with real building blocks is brought to life: you can see how roads connect, how traffic flows, and how emissions change. In collaboration with Imaginary, we design engineered, manufactured, and implemented the Future Mobility Simulator.
