Energy Discovery Trail

The Elbe flood disaster of 2002 destroyed large parts of the natural habitats and infrastructure of Tharandter Forest as well as the valleys of the Elbe tributaries Red and Wild Weisseritz southwest of the city of Dresden. As early as 2003, Hüttinger was awarded the contract by ESAG for the planning, design and subsequent production of hands-on exhibits for the extension of its former Hydroelectric Plants Educational Trail into an Energy Discovery Trail. The messages to be conveyed by the exhibits were worked out together with the client. The conceptional design invites the visitor to experience Energy and the Power of Water at several stations. Interactive exhibits enable the visitor to ‘play’ with each topic; display panels provide useful background information.
