KIBALA Children's Railway World

The German Rail Museum, formerly called the Nuremberg Transport Museum, is the the oldest history of technology museum in the German-speaking area. In the wake of the reform of German Rail, the museum, an institution rich in tradition, has taken on a new role as a centre of communication, a private museum of German Rail, where visitors are placed in the centre of events. To mark its one hundredth anniversary in 1999, the museum has had its building as well as the individual departments refurbished, remodelled and modernized.
The first phase of the refurbishment was completed in November 1997. The main entrance with the entrance hall and foyer shine in new splendour. A museum shop has been integrated and combined with the ticket counter at the entrance. A new section, specially designed for children to experience the thrill of railways, is located on the first floor in the newly created Railway World.
