Designing for Disaster

The National Building Museum’s upcoming exhibition, Designing for Disaster, will examine how we assess risks from natural hazards and how we can create policies, plans, and designs yielding safer, more disaster-resilient communities.
Hüttigner delivered the high-light exhibit Wall of wind, where visitors can build their own model houses and test them in a miniature wall of wind. Only the wind-resistant building structure will stand even major hurricanes.
