Fenomena

Trieste’s Immaginario Scientifico is an interactive and experimental science centre in Magazzino 26 of the Old Port of the city. The large late 19th century building houses colourful interactive exhibits, all to be touched, in order to discover natural phenomena, the most innovative applications of science, and the research activities of Trieste’s science system institutions.
The museum is spread over two floors, with a total of 2,000 square metres of exhibition and laboratory space. The friendly, informal and engaging museum setting makes the Immaginario Scientifico suitable for all ages. The museum is divided into three main sections: TRIESTE AND SCIENCE, which illustrates the different branches of research taking place in the institutes of this area; FENOMENA, where you can experiment with basic science through the “hands-on exhibits”, typical of science centres; INNOVA, where you can explore the most advanced technologies of applied science. In addition to these, there are two special sections: IMAGINAIRE SCIENTIFIQUE, an immersive space where you can take a journey through the most evocative images of science, and the PLANETARIUM, where you can watch fascinating projections of stars and planets. In addition, there are lab areas, for tinkering, group activities and workshops. Hüttinger designed and built interactives for Fenomena.
